Updates: 23rd May 2020

Hi everyone! I thought I should keep you posted on what’s going on with my channel, and tell you about my new series ideas. *Be warned: as you may already know, whether or not I will actually follow through with these plans depends on the phase of the moon, my time management skills and whether or not you’ve eaten something orange between the hours of 9 and 10 AM.*

First of all I’ll answer a few questions about Lalaloopsy Popular:
Will you make a season 2? Sorry to disappoint, but I won’t be making a season 2. This is for a number of reasons, but the main one being that I think the story has run its course and there’s not much more I could add to it. I enjoyed making it, but now I want to move on to more original, realistic and mature stories. I’m somewhat proud of how the last few episodes turned out, but to be frank I can’t watch episodes 1 to 9 without dying inside a little. I’m more than a little confused as to why those episodes have significantly more views and likes than the ones I don’t wish to erase from the world forever.
What’s the deal with Tia/Katie/Kate’s name? Honestly, I don’t know. I think it started out as a character inconsistency: when I first got my Jewel Sparkles doll, I named her Kate, but I thought Tia was a better name for her character in Lalaloopsy Popular. In Episode 1, Holly and Emily make a remark about Tia being a nickname and her real name being Kate; and her parents call her Kate/Katie whilst her sister Libby calls her Tia. I later created the backstory that Tia’s nickname came from when Libby was seeing a speech therapist (as Libby is disabled and can’t talk, and her parents refused to accept her disability and were insistent that they could get her to talk), and the speech therapist asked Libby to say ‘Katie’, but Libby could only pronounce ‘Tia’. Tia found this endearing and was much more accepting of her sister, and liked the nickname, whereas her parents refused to call her Tia as to them, it was like accepting that Libby wouldn’t be able to talk. These days, Libby still can’t talk, her parents have become somewhat more accepting of her disability, and everyone knows Kate as Tia (apart from her parents), as she’s gone by her nickname since elementary school.
Did you copy LPS Popular? Yes. Yes I did. I wish I didn’t, but my 12-year-old self had just discovered LPS Popular and was so inspired by seeing such a professional toy series, that little me wanted to make one herself. Alas, it was significantly less professional to start with, and I didn’t really change much about the plot. Sorry SophieGTV. Please forgive me.

Next, you might be wondering, what next? At the moment, I’m writing 3 different series – here’s a little description of each one:
LPS Sixteenish (Rated 15+ for mature content, moderate language and sexual references.)
A very British sitcom set in a sixth-form college in the middle of nowhere. Starring 4 girls who just can’t quite get it right: the awkward, sarcastic Grace Henshaw, the overconfident, pretentious Tabi Charlton-Blythe, the streetwise, honest Shannon Bailey and the naïve Leah Richards.
This series isn’t actually written to be made with LPS – I’m writing it to add to my résumé (I want to study screenwriting for TV at uni, and be a TV screenwriter as a full-time job). I’m also hoping to submit it to the BBC Writer’s Room during its opening for comedy next year. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get lost in the drafts pile.
I might not make this series with LPS, as a lot of the physical comedy would be difficult to film properly, and despite this style of comedy having a wide appeal amongst teenagers in the UK, the viewer demographics on LPSTube are quite different, where carbon copy American high school series with characters named ‘MacKennah Clawford’ and ‘Britnee Barkston’ run rampant, and despite British accents being considered ‘cute’ and ‘quirky’ by many viewers, I’m not sure if our sense of humour would have quite the same effect as it does over here.

LPS Logic (Rated PG-13 for mature themes and occasional violence and gore)
‘A girl, a gun and everyone caught up in the aftermath. Death is a complex thing - its prisoners are not taken in a logical manner, nor a fair one. Lisa Parks is a logical person. When she finds her older sister lifeless with a gun by her hand, there are many puzzle pieces that don't quite fit. She doesn't believe Annabel's death was a suicide, but to prove it, she needs to discover a few things she never knew about her sister, reach out to people she'd normally severe ties with, and try not to notice the deafening silence left in her sister's place. How far will Lisa go to prove that she's right, even when everything around her is screaming out that she's wrong?’
A mystery series set in the UK, with themes of friendship, secrets and morality throughout. The main characters are all around 18 years old. Yes, I am aware I have only published one episode each year for the past 2 years, but I’m not always in the mood to write MURDER. Right now I’m writing episode 3, but that’s all subject to change. What can I say? I’m reliably unreliable.

Finally, my new MLP series: MLP Good Enough (Rated PG-13 for mature themes and occasional mild language.)
‘Sunset Shimmer and her best friend Diamond Rose are finally going to the same school. But Sunset will soon discover that it’s not all plain sailing, and her insecurity and secrets she’s hiding (not to mention her unwanted roommate Lyra Heartstrings) may destroy her fragile friendship. Is friendship really worth everything? And can Sunset learn to find her own way?’
A drama/comedy (dramedy?) series set in an ambiguous fusion of college, sixth form and a boarding school. Blame the pony education system. I haven’t made a MLP series yet, despite planning and scripting one (which remains unmade) in great detail last year. I planned for this series to run along Sixteenish or Logic, as a sort of lower-budget, lower-effort easier watch, whilst still conveying important messages about disability, sexuality, friendship and judgement.

Well, there you have it. My three series. I’m honestly not sure which one I’m going to get out first or focus on – I’ve written a 28-page script for the pilot episode of Sixteenish, but I’m stuck on Episode 2, as I have discovered I’m not actually as funny as I thought I was. I’m not sure whether I should put all my eggs in the Logic basket, as the series has potential, but can be very dark, depressing (and boring) to make. Plus unlike LPS Popular, I’m not sure I can retain a viewership by waiting at least a year before making a new episode (Love you, Sophie! Don’t get offended xx). Finally, Good Enough seems like a stable option, but I’m worried I’ll run out of plot, or if the series will become too bland and generic over time.
My one issue is that none of these series feature Lalaloopsies, which were the whole reason I created my channel. I keep trying to think of ideas with Lalaloopsies, but so far nothing comes to mind. I really want to make more Lalaloopsy videos, as I feel like I owe it to the community, where we’re lucky to get any new videos at all, and I love those little dolls more than you could know. I have written a Lalaloopsy Popular prequel mini-series, set a year before the events of the main series, but to be honest I don’t want my only Lalaloopsy content to be Popular-related, as it’s not very… Lalaloopsy. And as much as I enjoyed making the series, I don’t actually like it. I feel something similar towards Popular as Stereophonics feel towards ‘Have a Nice Day’. I’m happy people like it, but I don’t feel like it represents me, or Lalaloopsies. So for the moment, I’m putting the prequel on hold whilst I work on series that better showcase me as a creator.

If you’re still reading, then congratulations! You’re now the proud owner of a better attention span than me (I pick up and drop my series daily). Hopefully you’ll like whatever I can get round to putting out next.

ReBiRtH

what's popping kiddos I'm back
ok in all seriousness I'm getting back into blogging & Lalaloopsies again after going back on Lalaloopsy Amino (you should join!) and deciding that my articles are a bit too long for my audience on Amino so instead I'll post my Lalaloopsy & LPS thoughts, opinions, advice and updates for my YouTube (which is a little bit dead at the moment if I'm honest) here.
a few updates for you:
  • I'm nowhere near as active on my YouTube as I'd like to be; there are many reasons but I guess the main one is a thing called executive dysfunction which affects my entire life and is a symptom of Asperger's Syndrome. Now I'm not self diagnosing just to be 'quirky' or hop on the bandwagon, I've been diagnosed by a variety of different people from a young age - it just so happens that my parents haven't decided to pursue an official diagnosis because a) it can cause a LOT of problems with getting a job because if you have a neurological disorder or disability you have to disclaim it from my understanding and b) they probably just can't be bothered and keep forgetting every time I bring it up.
  • If I could manage my time better, I'd dedicate most of it to making LPS Logic and also a new Lalaloopsy movie or short series I'm planning called Indigo (subject to change). It's a coming-of-age/comedy story about two girls from different backgrounds who become best friends and go on a mission to become more interesting OR they fall in love I honestly can't decide between the two oops. please decide for me.
  • I'm experiencing mental burnout and have a ton of schoolwork as per usual and I have GCSEs this May (big end of year torture devices exams for everyone in the UK in the equivalent of 10th grade) and I also have a job now since last April which helps me pay for stuff like Spotify, LPS, Lalaloopsies and a bunch of new clothes (I'm trying to reinvent myself don't judge me) so that's fun! in short I suck at managing my time and I also have no time any more so I'm stuck in a perpetual state of stress, apathy and sleep deprivation.
  • this blog post is a cry for help
  • in other news my old laptop started working again (although I'm sure it'll break in a few weeks) so I'm writing this post on said laptop; I need to transfer all my files back from my parents' laptop which may take a while
  • I think in the future I'm going to do my schoolwork on my laptop and keep my YouTube stuff on my parents' laptop
  • nobody even reads this so I have no idea why I'm telling the internet all this useless information???
ok that's about it
also my writing style has changed a lot it resembles a tumblr textpost more than anything sorry for the decrease in quality
my articles about Lalaloopsies & LPS should be better written than my personal blog posts though
if you've managed to scroll this far, thanks for putting up with this absolute trainwreck of a blog post, I applaud you.
I'll see you soon!

Videos coming this summer (Nearly at 900 subscribers!)

Hi everyone! It’s Eden and today I’m just telling you more about my plan for this summer.

I’m really sorry that I haven’t uploaded any videos for a while, this last term at school has been packed with trips, exams, homework and extracurricular projects. I basically spent all my weekends doing homework, catching up on classwork and procrastinating. But that’s all going to change as today is my first day of the summer holidays! Unlike most people in the UK, my holidays are 11 weeks long, which should give me time to make a lot of videos.

The videos I’m planning to make are 3 series: Lalaloopsy Popular, a LPS romance mini-series and another Lalaloopsy series that I'm keeping under wraps for now. The LPS series will star my new LPS which I will show you in an unboxing video coming soon. Be warned…I have a TON of unboxing videos, and not much left in my bank account.

What I’ve been meaning to ask you is to vote for my next video that isn’t part of a series. I want to make a short film or a music video, but I don’t know whether to do it with Lalaloopsies or LPS, and what topic or song to make it about. This is why I’ve created a poll where you can vote for all of these things! The link is in the description and you can vote for or comment your own ideas about what videos I’m going to make this summer.
I'm also going to make an updated mini Lalaloopsy collection video, which is well overdue.

Thank you for watching, I’ll see you guys soon in my next video! Don’t forget to like, comment, share and subscribe – we're so close to 900 subscribers! Hopefully I can get 1,000 by my 5th YouTube anniversary on 15th August! See you in my next video - oh, and don't forget to take my poll! It won't take you long to fill in.
Thanks for supporting my channel and this blog over these past 5 years.

Lalaloopsy Popular Updates

No, Lalaloopsy Popular has not come to an end. In fact, the opposite is happening because I have just finished Episode 12, written part of the script for Episode 13 and planned up to the start of Season 2. I’m sorry I haven’t updated you for a while on this (not that anyone reads my blog anyway), I honestly don’t know why I didn’t start working on this earlier. I guess I was just waiting for more time on my hands when school finished so I could focus more on the project.

Just a few questions you might ask about this series:
Q: How long will it take you to upload Episode (_)?
A: I’m not sure, it all depends on when I start writing the script and the time I have to make it. I will post updates on Instagram or Twitter when I’m working on a new episode. Usually it takes between 1 and 2 months to make a new episode.

Q: How many more episodes are there till the end of Season 1?
A: It’s a secret for now ;)

Q: Will there be a Season 2?
A: Yes, I’ve had a Season 2 planned ever since I thought of the idea for this series.

Q: Is this series suitable for all ages?
A: It depends. Some episodes contain content unsuitable for younger viewers, but it will always say in the description if it does, and in the newer episodes it will also state the type of content it contains. Season 2 will be more mature and unsuitable for younger viewers, because of the themes included. This series in general is targeted at ages 11 and up because it includes references to eating disorders which get stronger as the series goes on, mild language (b*tch, sl*t, cr*p, d*mn), homophobia, bullying and the LGBT+ community. Although LGBT+ characters should be ok for all ages, many people disagree with me and think it is still classed as a mature topic, and I know some people disagree with it.

Q: This is a blatant copy of (series). Why are you plagiarising them?
A: Admittedly I am a fan of high school series and have watched quite a lot, so you may spot some similarities in themes or plot between Lalaloopsy Popular and another high school series. However, I would never steal the entire storyline and the plot for my series is entirely my own creation, which I came up with before I started watching LPS Popular etc. The reason my series is called Lalaloopsy Popular is to try and optimize viewership. This name, although unoriginal, will probably attract more viewers than Lalaloopsy Imperfect (a previous name suggestion) or some other word.

Hope this helps, and Lalaloopsy Popular Episode 12 will be out next weekend!

Lalaloopsy Popular, A Taste of Fear & Subscribers

Hey everyone!I’m sorry I haven’t really been uploading much over the past couple of weeks. I’m really behind with my schedule and I guess it’s just because I’m disorganised. But don’t worry, because I have a lot of good news as well!
  1. I’ve finally finished planning Lalaloopsy Popular! And I’ve made loads of improvements to the series, for example - I'm now filming them with my video camera instead of an iPad, which not only means better camera quality, but also I won't get any copyright strikes because I can use music from the YouTube Audio Library. Aswell as this, the end to the series is a lot more dramatic than the start, and I'm also trying to make my video clips used in Popular shorter so the series is more fast-paced with less boring dialogue, but with more content so the episodes are going to get longer - between 10 and 20 minutes. I'm going to start scripting more of the series and also film episodes more than once to improve them. So hopefully you'll be getting a better quality end to the series!
  1. A Taste of Fear, my new series, will hopefully go ahead as planned. I will publish the first episode when I get 600 subscribers, so that could potentially happen before the end of Popular!
  1. To help with my goal for 600 subscribers, anyone who gives me a shoutout/tells people to subscribe to me on any social media and sends me proof through Instagram or gives me the link will get a shoutout from me in a Shoutout video! Please tell your friends, fans and family about my channel because I would love to have 600 subscribers before my 4th YouTube Anniversary (15th August)! My Instagram is @lalaloopsyesb if you're not already following me.
  1. Please comment some questions for a Q&A video on my social medias, I do read your comments!

Thank you for reading my updates (does anyone read my blog any more?), and hopefully I can get 600 subscribers soon and post the first episode of ATOF! ~ ESB 😊

Popular E7 & Quick Update

Hi guys!
This post isn't going to be very long (hopefully). I just have a few things to say:
1. Popular E7 is coming this weekend, and (SPOILER ALERT) JACKBER HAPPENS OMGOMGOMGOMG so BE EXCITED and watch the other episodes if you haven't already :)
2. I'm sorry I haven't really been able to keep up with my workload. I was planning on uploading two videos a week but I haven't been able to do it, so I spread out my schedule a bit and cut it down to one. Hopefully this will be a bit more manageable, but if I go a week without uploading then don't be alarmed.
3. Do you have any series ideas for full size dolls (that aren't similar to any of my 2015 series) because if you do, then post them in the comments or on one of my videos, I'd love to hear them!

That's it (thankfully)! I'm sorry if I'm not as active as I used to be or don't watch your videos as much, I just have a lot of other things I need or want to do at the moment and I will try to go on YouTube at the weekend. I hope you all had good Christmas holidays/winter break/whatever you call it!

Happy New Year & Why I've been away

Hi internet! Sorry I haven’t been posting videos over the holidays, I just wanted a bit of time to do other things apart from video-making (not that I don’t like it, it’s just that’s all I really get to do over the weekend). But I will be back when the holidays are over!

I got 3 new Lalaloopsies for Christmas, so that obviously means reviews are coming soon. I haven’t left, I just wanted a bit of a break in the holidays. Just warning you, I may have short breaks from time to time, but I will come back.

Thanks for sticking with me and being such great fans, hope you like the videos that are coming up soon! If you don't know what they are, then check my recent post for an idea of what will be coming next.

Hope you all had a great Christmas or any other holiday you celebrated! Also happy new year! J
